I would like to tell this is some gem of art pieces and the skill you have honed in over the years is great brother to make these pieces. Creativity at its peak.

Oh, that last piece is powerful. I have more to comment but I had to start there. The piece says it all.

I truly enjoy your art posts. The "creepy" faces are wonderful, and the scissors/rock is great. I think that's one of my favorite things about art - seeing how other people see things. To some, it's junk at a second hand store. To you, it's raw material for an idea that you took from idea to execution.

I have to ask: is the black paint the Stuart Semple Black 2.0? I ask because I have a bottle, or maybe its predecessor, that I bought awhile back and happened to use it for the very first time last week. It's funny how I hadn't thought of it in a long time, and now it is called to mind twice in a week.

Great to read - have a great weekend! Here's hoping that this weather is the start of actual spring and not a prelude to another round of winter in a few weeks.

Hey Jenn, you know the last piece "thirteen bullets". It's one that looks way better in person than in a picture. I have tried to no avail to convey that, but can't seem to get it right. I took a pic before adding the copper, I am going back to add that other picture just for reference. Take a look if you have a chance.

The "Tissues" pic has the opposite problem: its better in the photo than it looks in person. Go figure. The depth comes through way better in the pic than in person.

On the Rock paper-paper scissors: I actually had the final box and scissors before I found the spike, but yeah I needed something exactly 8 inches long to support it, and low and behold, a random trip I found the exact right height. Like the universe was telling me "here you are, and it's even made to spike paper on".

On the black paint: Indeed! Black 2.0 from Stuart Semple (he now has a 4.0 version, but I don't think it's Matte black). Do you know the story about Stuart and Anish Kapoor? Anish got exclusive rights to a paint called "Vantablack" and Stuart was pissed off enough to go and create a paint that was even blacker (our 2.0), and much easier to apply.

He also had a disclaimer on his site, about his signature pink paint, and you had to check a box stating you were not Anish Kapoor, did not represent Anish Kapoor, and were not buying the paint to give to Anish Kapoor.

https://stuartsemple.com/anish-kapoor-banned-worlds-pinkest-pink-paint/

And the saga continued, as Stuart legally changed his name to..... Anish Kapoor?!?. He produced a performance art piece, in his trademarked pinkest pink paint:

“I’m not a niche man. I’m Anish, man.”

Art is crazy, man.

Thank you for your tribute to Alex and Renee. We must not forget about them. A beautiful way to bring their memory back to the present. And keep it going into the future.
