Random Friday Art
A Collection
Today’s post is just random stuff I have been working on. Not running, not writing, just art.
Slightly Unnatural
Let’s start with the last piece, title “Slightly Unnatural”. This was an experiment for a couple things, but I think its still a cool piece. The black on canvas is the 2nd darkest black acrylic on the market. In person, I can’t detect the white specks, but the camera picks them up; any dust or flaw shows up instantly. The paint is so black. The decoupaged picture was from a text book about newspaper publishing, from 1975. Given the photo, I thought the captured text was appropriate. Assemblage is paper, acrylic paint on canvas.
Tissues
Yes, me and creepy faces again. This was “painted” with some really thin tissue paper and tempera paint. I want to do something more with this, so likely will become part of a larger assemblage. I have to fix that right eye though. Assemblage is paper and tempera paint, acrylic binder on canvas.
Rock Paper, Paper Scissors
OK a bit more whimsical for this one. It was a “speed” project, done in less than 30 minutes. I was having a “day” and wanted to complete something. I stumbled on the stand that very same day, it was in a second hand store, I think it was one of those old fashioned spike-things for stacking/stabbing paper receipts. Appropriate for the use anyway. Assemblage is paper on cardboard, with acrylic painted paper casted scissors.
Thirteen bullets
OK back to the heavy. This was a tribute to Renee and Alex in Minnesota. Thirteen being the number of bullets they sustained while being murdered, 3 for Renee, 10 for Alex. Not much more to say on this one. Assemblage is paper, acrylic, tempera and copper on canvas.

So That’s It
I hope everyone has a great weekend, it’s raining hard here in Wisconsin, hopefully wash away the salt on the roads and bring us some flowers.

I would like to tell this is some gem of art pieces and the skill you have honed in over the years is great brother to make these pieces. Creativity at its peak.
Thank you for sharing your art.
